Photographic Services Costs and Turnaround Times
When reproductions are requested for publication purposes, permission from the photographer or copyright holder is required. The person placing an order must obtain permission in writing and submit a copy before the request will be processed. If assistance is needed, please inquire. Our staff may be able to provide contact and address information.

- Collection use fees will be assessed for commercial publications.
- Reproductions are for one-time use only and must be returned within thirty days of publication.
When reproductions are solely for scholarly research or educational purposes and not for publication, a blanket authorization from the copyright holder may be on file permitting the sale of slides or research quality prints. If permission is not on file, the person ordering will be notified and provided with copyright holder information.

- Students are given the following discounts on slides, research prints and scans: 20% off one or two, 25% off three or more.
- Discounts are not applied to rush orders
- For three dimensional or oversize pieces, a $50.00 per hour custom photography fee will be charged.
Research prints and reference JPEGS are provided solely for the purpose of private study, scholarship or research, and may not be reproduced in any way.

World rights in the English language: 50% additional
Foreign language rights: 25% additional for each language
One foreign language only (i.e., not English): 25% less
This schedule reflects an average range of fees based on editorial use for a print run up to 40,000. Please inquire for individual quotes.
*Rates are for print runs of up to 5,000. Fees negotiable for higher print runs.
Applications for reproduction rights must be submitted in writing via our online service request form which collects the following information:
- Name and nature of publisher (commercial, educational, non-profit)
- Title and author of publication
- Number of editions planned and in which languages
- Print run for each edition
- Approximate retail value of publication
- Size of reproduction in relation to page (thumbnail, quarter, half, or full page)
- Comments and/or Project Description fields may be used to provide additional details re: digital or website use, or other non-book related projects.
Conditions for Publication: Reproduction is for one-time use only. Photographs may not be cropped, bleed off the page, or be otherwise altered in any way. Prints and transparencies must be returned within 30 days of publication in the same condition in which they were received. Photographer, title, copyright notice and collection credit must appear in conjunction with the reproduction. Any oversight regarding these conditions will result in an assessment of additional fees.
