Research Center
The Research Center provides access to a non-circulating collection of archives, photographic materials, and artifacts such as negatives, albums, work prints, manuscripts, audiovisual material, contact sheets, correspondence, and memorabilia relevant to the history of 20th-century photography. These holdings include the archives of more than 50 20th-century photographers. Online finding aids (link) for some of the archives are available.

Researchers must arrange a specific appointment with Research Center staff well in advance of an intended visit. Archivists can answer some research questions about the CCP archives via email or fax; depending on the question, it could take a few weeks to receive a full answer.

The Ansel Adams Research Fellowship, offered through a generous endowment provided by the Polaroid Corporation in honor of Ansel Adams, provides up to two annual Fellowships. Applications are due on October 31.
